About Mile High Meats

The Tuchscherer Family Meat Origin:

Dominick Tuchscherer boarded a ship in 1882 bound for America with one goal in mind, to provide a better life for his family.  In 1884 Dominick started raising livestock and crops to feed his family on his homestead in Rugby, North Dakota.  Since day one, we have never wavered from my great-great-grandfather's criteria for raising animals and food.  We have always raised our animals on nature's wide open spaces, anti-biotic and hormone free, because at the end of the day we want to know what we are putting into our family's bodies.

When Dr. Ryan Tuchscherer took over the family operation in 2010 he was living in Denver, Colorado, but always had his family's meat delivered to him from his ranch in Fort Scott, Kansas. For years he had been cooking for his friends and talking about where the meat they were eating came from and how it was raised.  He was amazed at how many people had no idea where a steak came from or how it was raised.  So this is how Mile High Meats was born.  We need to return to the way our ancestors raised their animals and harvested the meat, with the knowledge that we are eating a healthy and natural animal.  Fast forward 138 years and 5 generations later, we are proud to introduce Mile High Meats.

We at Mile High Meats believe that every family should have access to the highest quality meat to feed their family.  So from our family to yours, we hope you enjoy our 138 years of hard work and dedication to a healthy animal.
